Spider veins and reticular veins are small blood vessels that branch and become visible beneath the skin. They can be purple, red or blue making them difficult to conceal.
Who Are the Ideal Candidates?
Small to midsize spider veins and reticular veins most commonly on the legs and face can be improved by using our 1064 ND YAG laser available on our Quanta laser device. We do not treat palpable varicose veins.

What Is the Procedure and Experience Like?
Depending on how many vessels and areas are being treated it can take anywhere from half an hour to up to 1 hour. The Laser beams pass through the skin are absorbed selectively by blood without damaging the surrounding tissue. The blood vessels involved are subjected to shrinking and coagulation and this leads to their removal. It is safe for all skin types.
It may cause slight discomfort and most patients tolerate it well. Each laser pulse lasts only a fraction of second and feels like a rubber band snap with a little bit of heat. A topical numbing lotion or spray can be used prior to treatment to avoid any discomfort. Your body will absorb and remove the coagulated blood over the course of few weeks.

What Can I Expect After the Treatment?
You will be able to return to your usual activities immediately following the therapy. Some swelling, redness and bruising may occur after your laser vein reduction treatment however it usually resolves within 1 to 2 weeks. Compression or support clotting should be used to enhance blood circulation and speed up recovery.
You can expect 30% to 50% improvement in the vessels with each treatment. You will need an average of 1-3 treatments 6 to 8 weeks apart to fully clear and coagulate the blood vessels. Some vessels disappear immediately after treatment. Some vessels appear dark or red. Some bruising and redness may take several weeks to several months to heal.

How much does it cost?
It depends on how many vessels and areas are being treated and how long the procedure takes. At your consultation it will be determined if the veins are treatable and how much it will cost. Since it is considered cosmetic treatment it is not covered by insurance.
