How does Quanta Light Evo Laser Hair Removal Works?

The large variety of available handpieces with different spot sizes gives the possibility to perform quick and effective treatment by choosing the appropriate fluence for lighter and darker skin tones.  The laser emits beams of light that through the skin reaches the target melanin in the hair follicles.  The pigment in the hair shaft absorbs the light.  The light destroys the hair shaft and the follicle for permanent hair removal.

In addition we use a special handpiece to integrate laser beam with Zimmer Air Cooling device to ensure the most comfortable pain-free treatment.

Results of Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal means permanent hair removal.  You can expect to see 15 to 20% less hair growth/density after each treatment.  You can expect 70 to 90% hair removal with the recommended series of 6-8 treatments in most areas although we cannot guarantee 100% removal.  The hair follicles that are destroyed are meant to be destroyed permanently but over time new hair follicles may develop due to hormone changes, medications and other factors.  This might mean that after the initial sessions you may need maintenance laser hair removal treatments.

How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?

Every person has a different amount of hair and hair grows at different rates in different area of the body.  Because of this and the hair follicle growth cycle it is necessary to get multiple treatments.  We recommend 6-8 treatments spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart.  To get rid of all unwanted getting a given area you will need to commit to multiple sessions.

 

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

Most patients are not bothered by slight discomfort of the treatment.  Each laser pulse lasts only a fraction of a second and feels like a mild rubber band snap with a little bit of heat.  There is no downtime or lingering discomfort.

Preparing for laser hair removal

If you are coming for laser hair removal shave the area the night before or that morning and   do not use any make-up or bronzing creams.  Stop sun tanning or self- tanners such as tanning beds or tanning spray or lotions for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.  Stop waxing tweezing ,epilation or bleaching of the treatment area 2 to 4 weeks prior to laser hair removal.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

There is no down- time and you can return to your normal routine.  You may experience mild redness or the swelling which usually resolves within few hours or few days.  You should avoid sun exposure or self- tanners and use broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen with SPF 30.  A cold pack or aloe vera cream can be used if needed.
